Anleitung für die Multimedia-Präsentation auf der Bonus Disc zur limited Edition von Terminal Choice „New Born Enemies“:

Folgende Probleme können auftreten:

Windows-User:

1. In bestimmten Hardware-Konfigurationen lässt sich die PC-Präsentation durch Click auf „Exit“ nicht wieder verlassen (Buttons für „Ja“ und „Nein“ lassen sich nicht anclicken). Lösung: Schließen der Präsentation durch Tastenkombination Strg (Ctrl) + F4!

2. In bestimmten Hardware-Konfigurationen startet die Präsentation nicht automatisch: Lösung: siehe Schritt-für-Schritt-Anleitung:

- Öffnen des Datenteils der Bonus Disc: es handelt sich hierbei um eine Enhanced CD, die sowohl einen Audioteil, der sich in jedem CD-Player abspielen lässt, als auch einen Datenteil für den Computer enthält. Um den Datenteil zu öffnen, Doppelclick auf -> Arbeitsplatz, dann Doppelclick auf das Symbol für das -> CD-Rom- (DVD-) Laufwerk, in dem die CD liegt.

- Öffnen der Präsentation: Nun sollte sich ein Fenster öffnen, das die Ordner „Mac“ und „PC“ enthält. Doppelclick auf den Ordner -> PC, dann Doppelclick auf ->„Start.Exe“

- Für den Fall, dass sich ein Audioplayer öffnet, und keine Daten zu sehen sind, gibt es zwei Möglichkeiten:

o Doppelclick auf -> Arbeitsplatz, Rechtsclick auf das Symbol für das -> CD-Rom- (DVD-) Laufwerk, in dem die CD liegt. Aus dem Menü den Punkt „Öffnen“ auswählen. Nun sollte sich das Fenster mit dem Datenteil öffnen.

o Doppelclick auf -> Arbeitsplatz, Rechtsclick auf Symbol für -> CD-Rom- (DVD-) Laufwerk, in dem die CD liegt. Aus dem Menü -> Eigenschaften auswählen. Click auf Karteilasche ->Autoplay. Im Menü -> „Gemischter Inhalt“ auswählen. Punkt bei -> „Durchzuführende Aktion auswählen“ setzen, Click auf -> „Ordner öffnen, um Dateien anzuzeigen“, Click auf -> „Übernehmen“.

- In einigen wenigen Fällen kann ein DVD- oder CD-Laufwerk grundsätzlich keine Enhanced CD oder CDPlus öffnen. In diesem Falle hilft leider nur ein Austausch der Hardware.

Macintosh User:

- nach dem Einlegen der CD in das Laufwerk erscheint das Laufwerkssymbol auf dem Desktop. Doppelclick auf -> Ordner „Mac“, Doppelclick auf -> „Start.htm“

- Bitte beachten Sie, dass die Präsentation „Start.exe“ im Ordner PC nicht auf Macintosh- Computern lauffähig ist!

These are instructions on how to run the Multimedia-presentation on the bonus disc of the limited edition of Terminal Choice’s „New Born Enemies“:

You may be encountering the following problems:

Windows:

1. In certain hardware configurations, the PC-presentation (Start.exe) cannot be shut down by clicking on “Exit” (buttons “ja” and “nein” not clickable). Solution: close the presentation with Ctrl + F4!

2. In certain hardware configurations, the disc’s autoplay feature does not work, i.e. presentation will not run automatically. Solution: see step-by-step instructions below:

- Opening the data section of the disc: the CD is an enhanced CD that contains an audio part that will run on any CD-player and a data section that is viewable on PCs. To open the data section, double click on -> My Computer, double click on the CD-Rom (DVD-) drive icon. A window containing two folders named “Mac” and “PC” should open.

- Opening the presentation: double click the folder named “PC” and double click on “Start.exe”. The presentation will run automatically.

I do not see the data section… an audio player that starts playing the audio content of the disc opens instead. What do I do?

Two options:

o Double click on -> My Computer. Right click on the symbol for your CD-Rom (DVD-) drive. From the pull down menu that appears, select “open”. A window containing the data section should open.

o Double click on -> My Computer. Right click on the symbol for your CD-Rom (DVD-) drive. Select “properties” from the pull down menu. Click on the latch “Autoplay”. Click on “Actions”, from the pull down menu select “mixed content” and click on “open folder to show files”. Click on “OK”. The data section should now be opening on a double click on the CD-Rom Symbol.

There are a few unfortunate cases where the CD- or DVD-drive in combination with Windows is generally incapable of reading the data content of an Enhanced CD or CD Plus. This is a hardware problem. In this case, the only way to work around it is changing the drive.

Macintosh Users:

- after inserting the CD into your drive, the drive’s alias should appear on your desktop. Double click on the drive’s alias, double click on the folder Mac and double click on Start.htm. The presentation will start running.

- Please note that the presentation named “Start.exe” found in the folder “PC” will not run on Macintosh computers!
